Just started learning unlocked camera

And I'm very terrible at it right now, so I wanted to hear from people that do pay unlocked. One problem I have is I never know when it's appropriate to hold the spacebar. Is it best during team fights? Do you just tap it to center yourself or do you keep it held until the fighting is over? Another problem I'm having is during laning I find that when I start to engage and then they run to the edge of my screen and I have to re-position the camera to keep us both in view I lose a second from adjusting that could have been my chance to throw out a stun or something but by that time it's too late. Anyway, I'm sure I'll get better with practice, but any help would be greatly appreciated. Let me know how you learned, tips, any bad habits to avoid, experiences you had learnig, etc. Sincerely, Fixed camera N00b.

I've never used locked camera, but I'm an ex starcraft player so that just came naturally to me.

Personally I never 'hold' the spacebar. I only tap it if I need to recenter my screen. I accomplish all my camera movements with a high sensitivity and flicking at the edges of my screen with my mouse to adjust the position.

Do you use smart cast? That'll leave your mouse open strictly for movement/camera-movement/right-clicking/aiming.

I myself did use locked for a bit, and swapped over fairly quickly once I got the basics of control in the game mastered. Since i do rock smart cast, my mouse is only used for movement and targeting (and if I click the scroll wheel down, I ping!).

As for the space bar, I will often times, especially during jungle, will roam my camera around and use spacebar to recenter. I prefer moving my camera to follow me manually instead of holding it, as that way I can get it situated to where, say, my blue buff clearing is nearer the bottom of the screen, and I can watch the top of the screen for wandering into my area. I just like the extra camera control
