@Repetoir - Reliability Profiles
RiotRepetoir recently had a mega thread and something he discussed in it concerned me. Taric is likely going to be losing his targeted stun because his 'reliability profile' is taking up too much of his power budget.
I understand that champions need to have lows in order for them to have highs, and a degree of risk in a champion's kit can add to the satisfaction of mastering the skill shot range, missile speed and cast time to where you almost always hit it or burn a flash.
My problem is that ever since the server change I get random lag spikes like crazy, where I simply can't see my character for seconds at a time. For that reason, and because I simply like the champion, I play a whole lot of Nunu. My friends think I have a problem, but I can quit any time I want to (I just don't want to).
So, Repetoir, Nunu has a LOT of reliability. His Consume has a cast time, which means that if he tries to use it as a Smite against a low health monster, it can still be stolen by an enemy Smite, but he can cast it and then Smite during the cast animation to get a large chunk of damage out quickly. His E has crowd control and a good chunk of base damage with a high AP ratio and cannot miss. And even if his ultimate channel is interrupted, it still gives him a large AOE slow for as long as he channels.
Now, Nunu definitely has high moments. Hitting a sweet fully charged Absolute Zero because you combined it with ally crowd control or you cast it in a bush and waited is one of the best moments in League for me, and Flashing over a wall to Consume Smite a dragon or Baron has turned games around entirely for me. But he doesn't have a whole lot of low moments, and that's why I like him (same as why people like Lee Sin and Thresh, their highs are very obvious while their lows aren't so obvious).
So, Repetoir, or Meddler, or anyone on Balance, can we get some reassurance that some champions will retain their Reliability profile for the players who simply don't want to use skill shots or have ridiculous latency issues on a regular basis?
