I lost my first promo game. Won the next 7 straight. Played all top and with . 7-1 and got placed in Iron 1. Someone explain it cause I thought I understood the new ranking system.

Same number of leagues, division changes. Riot has to fill out Iron. Basically, they're shuffling people into new divisions as I said they would previously. They're just trying to be super sneaky about it. You can't add 4 iron divisions then have no one drop.

Everyone Plat 5 or lower will see a drop, they'll see 1, golds will see 2, silvers will see 3, and bronzies will see 4 is the jist of it. Overall it means less end of season gold rewards handed out.

It is not and never has been a simplistic "this many wins means this rank". Who a player is against matters. Matchmaking is going to be reasonable and there are only so many divisions you can test out of playing so few games at the bottom of the ladder.
