Question for low elo mids

Assume for a moment that you start losing lane. (If you never lose lane, then ignore and move on plz, k thx) If you start falling behind would you appreciate having a support come into your lane? I'm not a support main (altho its a secondary), but if I'm an adc and I feel like I've got bot locked down (especially if well ahead), I'd rather have my support "stop the bleeding" in mid than have the extra help facerolling bot. I'm just curious how many in mid would be receptive to getting an ally to try to help dig back up, vs. how many would ping and rage "get out of my lane". In an extreme case I had a supp who accidentally stole mobs from jg and spent a lot of time in the beginning helping jg and sometimes going mid while I held bot 1v2. That's not my ideal, but depending on the comp and players, I can do it. I'm just wondering how many outside of bot lane feel really tied to the meta so having someone in your lane for an EXTENDED period would be a nuisance rather than an asset.

I would prefer to create a larger gap bot lane assuming I'm not losing to an assassin.

I mean, I'm not a mid main, but when I play mid a lot, I prefer to be alone, ESPECIALLY when I'm getting camped. Take pressure on other objectives if someone is going to be so nice as to come my lane every 5 seconds.

I actually appreciate this very much and I'd say helps not just the mid but everyone else a lot by keeping us from falling behind too much overall and keeping moral up. As long as the support is confident they can leave the ADC without hearing "An ally has been slain" the minute they leave lane I'd actually encourage supports to try it more often. In return I usually follow the support back bot for a gank and getting the first bot tower if it hasn't been taken yet.

If I'm losing lane mid, it's mainly because their jungler is camping my lane. I would rather my jungler have a presence in their jungle to draw him out of my lane. Anyone coming to help would just draw more attention to my lane. Besides, I main Morgana and don't really get pushed out of lane. I just zone the enemy with my W and force a recall or a greedy death. Best case scenario, I keep their HP low and my jungler gets easy picks, or I flash + R them....

Usually a support roams mid when the adc backs. That's what I do as a support.

I also play a bit of mid. But mainly botlane.

Usualy when I play mid and I'm losing lane i prefer nobody coming in my lane. It's low elo, you can't trust anyone and I largely prefer coming to mid game and being 0/2 while having less CS than having the support or the jg comming in my lane and dying to my enemy that will dive me afterward. I already lost my lane, just keep pushing yours and winning and get turret as soon as you can so we can start small teamfights or objective taking (drag/other towers)

I mained ADC last season and am maining mid and sup this season.

Even if mid is losing (and there are various degrees to "losing" or falling behind), the smarter thing would be to keep 2v2 bot lane. While your ADC can "hold" bot, that wont last long and they enemy team will catch up and you will lose that advantage that you gained. If ADC and bot are steamrolling, continue to steamroll, push that lane hard and take towers. THEN rotate over and help mid.

If mid is falling behind, ask jungler to come and either gank or just show his presence a few times as he passes through. This should be enough to at least keep the enemy midlaner occupied mentally. If Sup has an opportunity to do the same once or twice for a brief appearance while warding river while ADC is backing then that's fine too but you want to avoid having him sup your lane.

Addressing the meta versus non-meta issue that you mentioned, while trying something like this might appear to be advantageous to you and a surprise to the other team, in reality, unless you have coordinated this with a premade that knows how to transition and cover in this way as a team, they will most likely F up and cause your lane to fall further behind, while bot falls further behind (and we haven't even talked about what is going on in top lane and jungle at all either, which may be even worse off than mid).
