Adopt a silver?

Dz NuTZZZ·11/28/2018, 3:14:37 PM·13 votes·10,352 views

Is there anyone willing to adopt a silver player. I do things wrong and I suck admitted! I'm silver cause I can't hack anything else admitted. Is there someone out there who's willing to play 1 match a week with me or watch 1 film of mine weekly, and give me a direction to improve. I really want to get better. I was doing better and now I'm back sliding. It's due to frustration, I watch farming videos and Jg routes and pro play. I am just struggling. It's not due to a lack of trying or work or effort. It's just so hard. I can look back on my bronze days now and say DAH BRO, this this and this were all wrong. Most of the community has been toxic trolls who rather than help just give you childish degrading talk. Stuff like if you can't get out of bronze your this. Silver your this. The fact is once you get something and know how important it is you are better. Once you implement it your better. I need a mentor BADLY!!!!

I'd recommend checking out Stonewall008 and FoxdropLoL on youtube if you're looking to improve your jungling. They both do a great mix of explaining ways to improve. Stonewall's videos are usually shorter (10-15 minutes on average I'd say) and he just reviews his own games, explains decisions (why he chose X champ, why he bought Y item, etc.). His vids were the main reason I dug myself out of the hellhole of Bronze back in Season 3 and haven't returned since.

Foxdrop does more general "help" videos (5 things pro players do, 8 tips to climb, etc.) and his full gameplay vids are pretty educational and entertaining as well. His brother PhyLol puts out more ADC-related content and tier lists if you're into that stuff too.

I've learned a decent amount just by watching higher elo games, Especially when it comes to learning one specific champion I think it can be pretty useful but that's just me

If you really want to get better just watch your own gameplay. Seriously its that easy. After a game do something for like 10 minutes, or play another, then watch your game and see if it happened the way you remember. You'll notice your mistakes this way, and you can do it whenever.

Aww poor little potato :3

I mean, silver isn't THAT BAD. A very high proportion of LoL players are bronze-silver-gold. You're ok!

Marian Cross11/28/2018, 8:28:30 PM1 votes

I mean I'm gold, but would be more than happy to help you as much as can if you would want.

I've gotten to a point where I'm fairly content with how good I am and I've been playing for a while so I feel I'm qualified to speak on this.

Just play more. Seriously. It sounds stupid, and I thought it did so I spent hours analyzing film and such of pro players, it actually does not matter in the end. Ultimately, the only thing that matters is just how much you play. The best players in the world are the ones who play the most. Eventually after I just played in excess amounts, I found myself getting better. If you really want to get better at this game you just have to play a ridiculous amount.

I'd be totally willing to help! I am only a gold 5 this year, but I have been playing through lots of patches, since S3! I don't main jungle but I have large amounts of knowledge for macro/micro play and what to do in situations while jungling. Also like what are the best strategies when facing champion name and what items to build depending on the situation. I also know a ton about meta and non-meta jungling champions. If you pick someone else, that would be ok, because I am probably not as qualified as people higher rank or an actual jungle main, but still would love to work with you.

Cuoco Diavolo11/28/2018, 8:53:34 PM1 votes

Not high up actual rank always hovers around gold silver but I play with and against plat, diamond, and master players. 2 of the biggest things that are really over looked in gold and lower is just the general importance of exp. if you can keep a constant flow you'll be amazed at how much better you do. Think of ARAM where until a team gets massively far ahead with gold purchases because of the exp system there you remain pretty even. The second is gold flow in general. The last point but no matter what level you play at you can always improve on is macro map awareness.

I'm relatively high elo, and am more than willing to play amongst silvers trying to learn. I'm up-to-date on the metas and winning strategies in top, mid, and jungle, and I already try to coordinate people often in the chat. Add me if you wish.

End season ranks: plat in solo, diamond in flex Primarily Mid, secondary Top and Jungle Strategies: objective control, coordination, and exploiting game mechanics

Hey, me and a friend would be more than willing to play a few games a week with you. We can even voice chat and break down your play live. I already friend requested you so accept if you're down. We play with lower elo often enough and we're immune to getting toxic over bad play. Come join : ^ )

Carrie Pigeon11/29/2018, 12:10:46 AM1 votes

Sent a friend request. Only gold but ranked is simply play the 20 or so games to get the rewards for me. I am basically a two trick (AP Kog and Heimerdinger) but I do have general knowledge of every champion builds, combos, etc.

Flawless Fetus11/29/2018, 12:34:16 AM1 votes

I will play with you and answer any questions you have. I'll checkout any clips you send my way, but realistically probably won't watch a whole game. Lol.

I'm low diamond in both flex and solo. It was awhile ago, but my peak is D2. In case that matters at all.

StonePlatypus11/29/2018, 6:15:50 AM1 votes

I'm a jungler. Gold/Plat in skill.

I added you. Just message me sometime and I'll help ya out.

I mean idk what role you play but ill watch a vod and explain what you do wrong, but unless its jg I cant really give advice past high plat besides which champs to abuse for underserved elo. Jg tho I can explain from a dia perspective what you should do.

EyesOfTheFox11/29/2018, 2:19:30 PM1 votes

Try focusing on one thing at a time. If you are missing farm, just focus on getting farm until you can do it in your sleep, then, move on to the next thing you need to work on. Don't try to get better at everything all at one time. I agree with a previous post on watching your games back, pretend its not you and point out all the stupid things that person (you) did. Flame the shit out of yourself. Call yourself trash every time you miss a minion. Look at your mini map more. Get a less immature summoner name so people actually take you seriously, so you actually take yourself seriously.

Gives No Lux11/30/2018, 2:00:20 AM1 votes

First step to getting out of silver: Learn to CS. If you can get 85-90% CS in lane you will win well over 50% of your games in silver. Once you can do that then you can work on the other aspects of the game. Until you learn to CS you will always be playing from a disadvantage.

This advice brought to you from someone who can't CS and knows what it's like to play every game from behind.

The biggest difference in elos is mostly macro. You can get to at least Gold by

  • dying less. Don't greed. Don't overstay. Don't overpush. Keep an eye on the minimap and be aware when you are traversing unwarded areas
  • CSing well. Know your damage output. Keep your cooldowns and animation delays in mind. Plan into the future when you see two minions approaching death at once. Can you lasthit both with a spell, or do you need to offset one with a basic attack? Observe minion movement patterns and how towers pick their targets. If you realize you will miss a minion, forget it and focus on preparing the rest of the wave correctly.
  • positioning well. Depending on your opponents health/mana/cooldowns and yours, you can adjust your lane pressure by zoning or playing passively. Keep in mind that this affects how the lane pushes and how safe you are from ganks.
  • knowing your role. Tanks who yolo in for a a bit of damage and then die, or junglers who don't pressure objectives are all equally useless.
  • knowing when to go for an objective. Seizing opportunities is important to keep the game rolling or making a comeback, but they have to be taken carefully.

I don't really play jungle so I don't know if I could help you out too much but I do know that Virkayu makes really great full game commentaries and jungle related vids on yt. They are pretty informative, you should check out some of his vids

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLFrMylRRV4

Also, if you wanna climb, try onetricking a champ. It worked really well for me

ZanTwilight11/28/2018, 6:31:27 PM1 votes

I'm a P2/P1 mid main but I've been playing since S3 so I'm pretty familiar with every role and most champs. My schedule is a bit wonky, but you can add me and if we happen to be on at the same time we can play a game or two. I wouldn't mind watching a replay either. But also, don't worry, improving at League is indeed difficult! But for my first couple seasons of Ranked I was solidly Silver, climbed my way to like G4 and was super proud of it and super stuck, then had a breakthrough and climbed to P4 in like 2 months. Climbing is weird sometimes - just keep at it!
