Question About Ranked Placement

I'm a new Level 30 still in my first 2 months of playing this game. I've studied the support role, and I try my best, but I'm overmatched constantly by greater experience. When added to the fact that 8 of my 10 placement games were ruined by toxic players, I was baffled by my placement in Bronze II instead of Bronze V. A quick look at my ranked stats will tell the story...but here is essentially why I'm confused.

I feel like I'm about the worst ranked player on the planet and my "stats" support this.

10 Ranked Games - 1 Win - 9 Losses 9 Support Runs: 9 Kills/66 Deaths/82 Assists 1 Bot ADC Run (Long before I had a clue): 0/5/1

How did I not land in Wood League, or Armpit League? The Game should have told me to just give up, because that's how I feel about it. What justified my placement even in Bronze II?

New accounts have a fairly high starting mmr. I believe Riot uses their base mmr as basically the 50% mark (so like silver 3ish right now). So pretty much if you go 5-5 you end up in silver 3. Better than 50% you end up in lower silver and maybe gold. Usually even 3 wins gets you silver 5 depending on who you play against. But yea pretty sure its almost impossible to get bronze 5 off new account placements. Which is really sad because like you said, your new and still really struggling to learn the game and should be a lower rank so you can play people with similar experience and work your way up.

I know I personally started in bronze 4 back in season 3 and although I was pissed, I was able to climb to silver but had to work for it. The climb helped me learn how rank worked and helped me focus on getting better.

I wouldn't sweat ranked too much. Just try your best. If you keep playing you will probably get demoted but eventually you will get to where you belong. Maybe you would learn some things along the way, although playing in bronze can create some bad habits. Just realize there will be a lot of ragers, but try not to let them get to you. From memory seems like bronze can be very toxic at times but its mostly because no one really knows what their doing. Once you figure out the game you should be able to get out of bronze, but until then look at it as a learning experience. Take time to laugh at all the stupid plays that happen around you as there will be a lot of them. Hell I make stupid plays all the time still and just laugh knowing my teammates are raging inside at how dumb the play I just made was. Just have to try to limit those dumb plays as much as possible but no one is perfect.

Good luck.

In my placements I won 4 games out of 10 and got in bronze 1 (after which I was so outmatched I dropped to b3 before climbing to s4) so it does seem pretty flawed.

Dont worry bro, if your like me it wont be long till you hit B5 :( i went 1/9 due to 9 AFK players in those 10 games (yeah i know) and the only game i won the enemy team had an AFK. I played ranked afterwards and promptly fell to B5 due to a 18 game loss streak again due to AFK and troll players.(really? why on earth would you pick Janna as a jungle champ...)

Rito thinks that fresh new players are as good as veterans who have hundreds of not thousands of games played.
