Malzahar Update (7.11) My point of view.

Well, I have over 3k games on Malzahar. So I know him extremely well and I can say this version of malz is a good version. Original was VERY strong and VERY bursty. His playstyle used to be turn and burn back in the day and then they gimped that hard. This version is the same but to a much lesser degree. He has plenty of counter play in dodging his silence and all his minions are one shot now. People complaining about hes too strong clearly never played against Old Malz. He could kill almost anyone by himself no problem if he had R up. Now, with lower bases on all his abilities and lower scaling on his R (used to be 150% AP) he's much more manageable. His playstyle is back to what is used to be (to a degree) thankfully. I feel he is viable currently but barely. Once people figure him out, no one will complain anymore. You nerf him and he's pretty useless. I would lave to have old Malz back (original) but then people would say HESS WAYYYYY TOO OP even though they chnaged him because every said he wasn't viable then. Just feel it out. Learn how his new kit is and adjust. He's not OP. He's perfect finally. Leave him be. Pro Tip: Laning against him, dodge his silence and you'll be fine.

Honestly he's more powerful in many respects.

Though he still lacks counter play. If you don't pick a champion which has some kind of mechanical counter to him, then he tends to crush them. Where as if they pick a champion which does have any amount of mechanical counter to him, then he gets crushed. With little effort from each respective player.

Nothing has really changed between the two designs, besides that i'm now out of practice with his old Q timing, other than he now can't build AD for shit, and he has a spell shield.

All they did was add mechanics to the champion and move numbers around (because they still add up to about the same), and now he's somehow more balanced... yeah i'm not buying it. He's just going to continue showing up in positions which his voidlings are most advantageous, now top lane.

The new Malz is pretty unfair, because of the buffed E. It is soo strong now and even useful in teamfights. His ult is stronger now too.. I saw with my own eyes , how an enemy malz deleted our fed Diana, when just channeling R. I find him busted, only because he is back to mid lane power, with some actual damage to back him up , AND he kept his hard - if not 0 counterplay ult, which is even stronger now. I prefered his power to be in his voidlings, because that i could kite and peel and kill... Now he is back to point and click with more damage to his poitn and click - making him unfair..
