What's is with the honor level?

I was honour level 5 last season and wasn't toxic at all. However, when this season started I started to go on a downward spiral and started to be toxic in-game, this resulted in a ban for me for 2 weeks. I'd admit that I've learnt my lesson since then and I have started to ignore chat and say positive things for which I've been getting honoured a lot for.

It's been 3 months since the ban and you know what my honour level is? It's 0, with 1 out of 3 checkpoints done. I have a ton of chests and I can't get any keys at all for them because this game stops you from earning keys if you are dishonourable but legitimately this hinders me. At this rate for me to reach level 2, would take me at least the end of this season.

My friends have much shorter checkpoints than I and I'm at a lower level than them, they were honour level 3 when I got banned and right now they are honor level 4 or close to it. I know resetting honour levels is a good way of punishing bad players but players who are trying to reform themselves get hit with the brunt of it as they aren't getting awarded for good behaviour and they get useless chests. This isn't a good way to deal with dishonourable players at all. Please fix this system or it will get treated like the ill forgot clubs, and that turned out well, didn't it?
