Can we please find a way to punish AFKers/Leavers

Hey everyone,

I know this has been talked about since this game was probably released but how can we have come so far with so many great ideas and still not have a solution for punishing people who leave games? Out of the last 10 ranked matches 8 of them had an AFK. I know this is par for the course for silver but something has to be done.

My recommendation is an implementation to ranked games only; after the second match of a player being reported as AFKing or leaving in say a week period (could be a month to make it really impact serial AFKers or could be 3 days whatever seems to be fair taking into account people with network issues beyond their control). If the game detects that they have left or not continued playing (ie. the game finishes and they are =>4 levels behind their team) than that player loses 80% of their current LP. If their on the cuff of a division or league; this might count as x amount of loses meaning a demotion could occur. Meanwhile to help alleviate the team's frustration, when this system becomes active on a player, that team which gets effected won't take a loss on that game - it just gives them 0 LP for the match. So all they've wasted is their time.

This way even if a player decides to AFK after failing to steal blue or getting owned early game, they might only get away with it once but they start getting penalized beyond that match if it becomes a continued pattern.

I don't think many toxic players start off playing league as toxic players; I think this is something that forms with frustrations such as this issue. Because if the players who are AFKing in their matches aren't being penalized then what keeps them from doing the same next time they get frustrated?

TLDR: Instead of trying to focus on penalizing AFKs/Leavers through a single match in ranked, penalize their entire league standing.

Ok here's another idea; how about even just giving a team that's short a player a buff until the player reconnects (lasts all game if they don't)? Maybe not on par with old baron but enough to counter balance missing a player which would probably consist of some ap/ad + ms. They'll still be at a disadvantage because of missing that one player and not having full drag control (which has become a real hassle in S5 with AFKs and the new importance the dragon puts on gameplay) but atleast the full team wont be able to dominate dragon and give the other team 0 chance of coming back. Then if Riot chooses to actually effectively deal with them then great, if not who cares because the rest of us might actually get a fair game once in awhile.

In 6 games today I've had ONE with a full team. From what I can see leavebuster isn't doing anything but maybe thats because Riot hasn't been overly transparent with what their success has been in actually stopping chronic trolls.
