Seeking help from Vi players/ Vi discussion
Hello everyone.
I've been playing Vi from time to time, and can't help but notice some of her issues. I'd like to hear what you think about her and if I'm wrong in feeling she's weak, please give me some tips.
Kit details
Passive: Damage sth with a spell to get a shield.
Q: Charged skillshot dash. Damage. Knock-back. Self-slow.
W: On-3rd-hit AS boost/Armor shred/%HP damage.
E: AoE on-hit.
R: Targeted dash. Damage. Knock-up.
Intended (by design) position: Top
Intended (by design) role: Fighter
Played (for effectiveness) position: Jungle
Played (for effectiveness) role: Triforce Tank
Strengths: Single target damage. Armor shred. Decent lock-down. Pseudo-mobile Weaknesses: Slows self. No sustain. High CD spells (except late). Too auto-attack reliant. Huge cooldown windows. CC tied to mobility. Extremely build reliant. Situational steroid.
How I play her:
I've tried toplane Vi for some time. The lane is boring because you can't really trade, you run oom relatively easily and her itemization is tricky to pull off. Other toplaners offer what Vi offers with better success and fun.
I now play her jungle. I have no sustain problems in the jungle. I usually max Q->W->E and take my ult at 6/11/16. I either go early brutalizer/warrior enchantment into triforce or build tanky immediately, depending on how I and my team are performing. Jungle item is usually stalkers blade or rangers trailblazer.
I start my jungle with W -> Q, farm up and usually start ganking at lvl 4. For runes I either run AD/AS reds/quints or AD/MS reds/quints. Now, here is where my problems start. Her Q is too easy to read, and if I don't land it, my enemy retaliates hard on me. At lvl 6, if I get stunned immediately after R, or if my target dashes/flashes away, I need too much time to prepare and land my Q. I also feel like I only have 2 spells all game long since W/E only modify how you autoattack. I always feel like once I complete Q/R or R/Q my target is free to get away. So, while these spells scale off AD, if you opt for AD you are sort of penalized by dying immediately. Her ultimate used to make her untargetable+invulnerable+CCimmune, while it now makes her only untargetable(even though skillshots and travelling projectiles still hit me mid-dash sometimes) so you're too easy to be rid of.
Is it that I can't figure out how to play her? Or is she really giving up too much for so little?
