Is Devourer situationally broken?

I'm just gonna' cut right to the chase; sated devourer, I feel, is an extremely overpowered item on quite a few certain champs. I think we've all seen it by now, devourer being built on champions such asKayle , MasterYi, and Udyr just to name a few. It turns these champs into unbelievably powerful bulldozers, and it just completely shifts the momentum of the game in such a radical way. That's all I had to say, but I personally am feeling a bit bombarded by the constant utilization of this stupidly overpowered jungle item......any thoughts from ya'll?

It's really bad on Udyr. It buffs his Phoenix and Tiger stances.

Well I mean it as those who clear quickly, such as Shyvana/Yi also have wicked synergy with it. So not only do they get easy stacking, they get it even quicker therefore giving them a larger powerspike compared to the laners

I've found it fun to use devourer on champions that were never before seen as viable jungle picks like Teemo and Gnar to name a couple because while other actual junglers can be left kind of in the dust if they have no on hit effects, build some on hit items with Teemo such as item 3115 while stacking up the ap and watch as you tear through enemies with your basics faster than ever before! Or watch Gnar get his percent health off every other attack since the second hit applies two stacks. So needless to say, it's opened up some whacky avenues within the jungle, and while I welcome change, this seems like the kind of change that needs to be taken in moderation and toned down in scale before people find some more ridiculous ways to utilize item 3930 . Beyond that, we have seen it exponentially buff some champions like item 3709 did before it, so I am expecting some changes to be made in order to put its power in check like the for-mentioned "Thousand-Sunfire Cape."

People fail to realize that these champs were already strong and this just gives them the tools to go over the edge...

Not the otherway around.

certain champs are broken with devourer Kayle Rengar Udyr Shyvana MasterYi

and the ONLY reason its op on them is the "on hit" proc if they just removed that it would be perfectly fine

are the main offenders it dones't really make much of a different to other junglers

infact its WORSE onWarwick andRekSai ww no longer procs it on ulti and queen wrath (reksai Q spin auto attack aoe) wont proc it when its empowering your autos (this might be a bug idk)

Eh. They don't need to tweak the item, they need to tweak how long it takes to get it. 30 stacks, 5 on dragon/baron, 2 on scuttle, each jungle side is 3, + kills. If you farm like you mean it, you have it at 20 minutes if not sooner.

I typically never go more than 15 minutes without sating devourer on AA pressure gankers like Nocturne and Udyr . I personally think the pressure and offense it gives one player on a team can and SHOULD fundementally change the balance of a particular game (depending on team comp, and teamplay, of course), but at the same time the drawbacks for taking devourer do not currently offset its benefits enough IMO.

When I can get counterjungled to hell by a Hecarim or Gragas and still turn losing lanes into winning ones simply by keeping 2 clears a minute going and 2 ganks every 5, then that probably needs some work...

Devourer isn't OP. Devourer + BOTRK is OP. But I think Devourer unreasonably gets most of the blame for that combo because it is new, when the reality is, BOTRK has already been OP for a long time. It's just too good at too many things.

IMO, nerf BOTRK first. If there's still a problem, then think about nerfing Devourer/Sated.

P.S. In hindsight, buffing Kayle the same patch Sated Devourer came out seems like a bad idea; they should have waited to see how the item changes affected her first. But she still has very little CC of her own, and is vulnerable to being CC'd until her ult wears off and then blown up.

Drag is worth 5 stacks, kills and assists also count, so If you can counter-jungle well and get good ganks going it's often very quick to stack. Like parth said though, it's problem is that it makes too many items that wouldn't normally be situationally powerful, more powerful.
