In regards to ADC mid, dont you remember Lulu top?
The problem no one seems to even want to think about is that, as soon as other champions were being played outside their roles, riot reworked them. (see, Lulu rework)

No, Riot tried to allow Lanelu to work. The problem was is that when she was at the appropriate power level to not be OP in a solo lane, she was incredibly weak as a support, which was where she is supposed to be played.
That's not happening with other picks
