Moral, Motivation and when giving up is okay.
Similar topics have popped up in the last few days, so I wanted to start a little discussion about it.
I always believed that winning isn't only about skill and champion matchup but also about the state of mind a player has. We all know those situations, the kill statistic is on both teams fairly equal, the opponents might have turret more, but nothing is lost yet. Despite this your team starts playing extremly devensive, makes little use of good opportunities, doesn't push, doesn't fight for objectives. Eventually the opponents take more turrets, teamfights are more about running and then the game truly is lost.
The question is how does that happen? How can you build your teams confidence back up, before it is too late?
I also wonder, at what point should players choose to surrender? I think that a lot of people tend to surrender too fast, practically the moment a single teamfight it's lost at least 2 people want to forfeit. It's way too early, and leading back to the original point of this thread, it also gives everyone on the team a sense of defeat. I mean do those 2 players still give their best, if they clearly believe that the game is lost? I don't think so. At the same time dragging things out to a 40 minute match of your team running around like headless chickens (who still manage to get beheaded frequently), isn't really the way to go either. How do you guys decide when to surrender? Do you have a clear mark like " okay they have 20 kills more than we do, lets wrap things up" ?
And one last question: Has anyone succeded to convince a troll to stop trolling? How did you do it?
