Possibility of Some Mages Being Reworked to go Botlane?

I'm not sure how many of you guys listen to the League Community Podcast, but I listen to it whenever it comes out because I feel it really does help provide insight into the thought processes behind recent patch changes. The casters also sometimes talk about what Riot is planning to do, which can help curb expectations for the future.

In the latest episode there was something Meddler was talking about (I can't remember the exact timestamp) that seemed to imply that the Riot balance team was looking to diversify the botlane to be something beyond your traditional marksman+support. Specifically, they mentioned that perhaps they would try to get some mages into the botlane with mastery, item, or champion changes, possibly with the upcoming mage update. It sounds to me like Riot is giving the Mordekaiser route another shot with this.

What do you guys think? I personally am curious to see how they manage to do this time, although the Mordekaiser shenanigans make me a little apprehensive. If they manage to do it well, however, I think it could add some real interesting gameplay to the botlane.

I mean, as long as they pick mages that make sense for the lane, I think it'll be alright; sending a melee carry bruiser bot lane was INTERESTING, but it wasn't very healthy. A ranged AP carry that doesn't have "You need a teammate to work" shoved into their kit could actually work

I've honestly loved the idea of having a mage bot lane for a long time now. I don't see any reason as to why we can't do it now, considering we have adcs in other lanes. Graves / quinn top / jungle (quinn can go mid too), varus mid, vayne top, kindred jungle, etc.

Would add a lot more diversity to bot lane at any rate.

Mordekaiser The only reason I agreed to it was because I wanted to let Karthus mid and Yorick and Olaf have the choice of either top or jungle. I wanted to spend time in bot lane with Sona, and let the whole band have fun and be viable in a five-team comp. summoner 31 But you ended up becoming better friends with Thresh and Nautlius in bot lane, and then you slept with Leona. Mordekaiser Don't tell the community that Leona's new personality is because of me, also I didn't sleep with her. I bunked with her for a time to get to know her better. summoner 31 So how did she become so violent? Mordekaiser I introduced her to Metal Gear Rising, for 72 hours straight all that could be heard in her place was "Red Sun" on repeat.
