I want Azir, but I am kinda scared.

Azir looks really cool, and after toying with mid lane I have found out that I dont like assassins, but I like mages, like Viktor and Ahri . Yeah I know, Ahri is kind of an assasin, but I love her and she is my main. I dont click with champs like Zed, Talon, Diana etc who have meele attack to last hit because I am bad at trading with them when I get harassed. I have been saving up for Azir . He looks pretty cool (and you can make some pretty flashy plays hehe). Another thing that inspired me was when Skt played Fnatic in the MSI. Faker lost the lane, but demolished Fnatic entire team late game. But I keep hearing how difficult he is to use and that kinda scares me. Do I have to be a mechanical god to play him? Is he fun to play? Anyone here who failed in the beginning with him, but managed to become comfortable with him?

Yes, he is a mechanically intensive champion.

Yes, he is very fun to play.

I haven't mastered him yet but I still have success with him. Even if you don't try to do flashy plays he's a great control mage who can really poke down enemies. Only use your E and R defensively until you feel comfortable with him and you should be fine.

Pretty safe to say you'll do poorly with him and make a lot of mistakes starting out. If you're willing to not let this discourage you then Azir is pretty good. He has very effective poke, disengage and can turn a fight around very well.

He's difficult/different, but you only get better by playing him.

Learn him and there will be few champions difficult for you (maybe).

Long, long road to learn Azir. Took me like 200 games just to find the play style I like with him.

not sure you should do it. Azir is getting reworked to make it easier but noone know how he will become. maybe you won't like him anymore.

I was terrible at Azir when he first came out. For me, playing Annie and learning to micro Tibbers really helped me track two units at once, which made me a better Orianna player. Playing Orianna made me a better Azir. I don't own Azir though, and don't plan on buying him; he's not a champion I'd bring into ranked or anything, just someone I'd play every once in a while, and free week is more than enough for me.

I'd wait until Azir is on free week to try him out and buy him (unless you want to risk using a refund or something). imo Azir is the most difficult champion to master, but you can learn to play him at a basic level with a bit of practice. It also just depends on what you want; I have a ton of mechanically difficult champions that I don't bring into ranked, but just play for fun on the side. I also know a few players that have devoted a lot of time to practicing Azir and have gotten pretty good at him

You have to be mentally prepared to spam him. I've played him reguarly since release, minus the patch 5.2ish (?) fiasco.
