I really like to know how everyone thinks of Ryze now
I've played numerous amount of times with Ryze myself (and got myself to Mastery 5 with him since Mastery 3 from old Ryze), and I still see Ryze as a "hard to learn, monstrous when mastered" kind of champion.
For instance, his laning phase can be really pressuring, as one step closer to him invites nothing more than a bunch of blue balls rushing to your face. When I play Ryze & an enemy Zed or Lux comes into range, a simple WQEQ combo can seriously shred their HP bar real quick. The EQ combo can really offer a big burst of damage after building an Archangel or ROA on him. Of course, this hard-poking trick can be done well if the enemy laner wasted an ability rendering him/her helpless to Ryze's 1v1 combo.
Ryze is simply strong with just his 3 basic abilities. As others might say that his ult is good for flanking enemy line, but imo, his ult is basically just like Tahm Kench's ult.
- Slow to fully cast.
- Interruptable.
- Mostly used just to get to another lane faster.
I mean, I don't know, this is just all imo about the current Ryze so far, so it may differ from your opinion. Would love to hear your thoughts on him, and Riot as well if they have any plans for him.
