The best way to get good is to get aware

As somebody whos not a smurf it seems that the biggest problem with plats/low diamonds is that they are completely clueless with 0 map awareness.

For yourself in your own lane, pay attention to the enemy jungler pathing and where the enemy jungler is. Know when its likely to get ganked and play aggressively if you know the enemy jungler is on the other side of the map. Do not ask for ganks if you did not put down vision and you are behind, all that will happen is a losing 2 v 2 counter gank and a free double kill. Junglers should never gank a losing lane with no vision and no idea where enemy jungler is.

For your teammates, b ping them as soon as you know they are getting ganked/roamed on. if you suspect your opponent is roaming, immediately ping. if they don't want to listen, they can stay trash and its not your problem.

Getting aware to get good is a really good phrase, because after you got the most basic problems out of the way, you really have to look at your own performance and identify your weaknesses, which can proof to be really hard, since the greatest mistakes are usually those u don't even notice doing them.

And when it comes to map awareness i would say there are roughly 4 steps to learn:

  1. to watch you own lane (warding, not overextending)
  2. observe other lanes as well (seeing roam- and gankingopportunities )
  3. to do it consistently + looking for drakes/barons
  4. to predict the enemy's movement

1 and 2 are pretty basic and most players do it a some point, 3 is where a lot of players have problems with and 4 is whate separates really good players from the rest, because unlike step 1-3, which can be learned with enough discipline, predictions require a lot of game knowkedge and experience.

So yeah good point. Map-awareness is definetly something plats ( can't really speak for diamonds here) still haven't figured out yet, when it comes to predicting the enemy's movements.
