@Meddler A (very) small but helpful idea for Syndra
I tweeted at DanielZKlein on twitter, and he redirected me here since Meddler was the champion designer for Syndra. I love Syndra. She is my most played champions across all the seasons. Since her latest nerfs, I've had mixed success however. Her early laning is really poor since her Q does so little damage and her mana pool is too small to be able to dish out her spells enough to be effective. She is basically super unfun to play from lvls 1-5.
I have an idea that wouldn't make her broken but it would make her able to survive some really, really hard lanes for her atm.
At first I thought, just drop the mana cost on Q at early levels. I think that would help but could potentially abused. Then I thought maybe adjust her base regen to be higher and lower the scaling mp5 so it's roughly equal but early lets her dish out a few more spells. I think that would be fair.
But then I thought about her W. W is an odd skill. Since people started maxing R-Q-E-W instead of R-Q-W-E, W seems to have lost a lot of it's value. It cost too much to use in laning phase for harass while not doing enough damage at level 1. It is good for clearing waves though. But generally, it's the weakest part of her kit, not in strength but in usefulness. My final idea was to add that if you A. hit an enemy champion with your W, you restore X amount of mana, or B. kill a picked-up minion with the throw, you restore X amount of mana. This either rewards smart farming or accurate skillshots. It wouldn't break her laning but it would make her more fun to play and a bit more usable in some really hard matchups.
