I think Abyssal Mask is a potentially really broken item

I would speculate that this item is part of the reason that so many tanks are out-damaging bruisers, especially tanks like Ornn and Maokai. 10% extra damage is a lot no matter what way you slice it, and when you add it to high base damages that tanks typically have, it's not hard to imagine why tanks are doing so much damage.

Additionally, you have champions like Ryze and Cassio rushing this item and still dealing out high amounts of damage, while also nullifying their AP lane opponents to a large extent, simply due to their machine gun like nature benefiting from the 10% increase in magic damage. I dunno, maybe I'm wrong about all of this, I'm basing most of these thoughts on a Ryze game I played yesterday where I rushed Abyssal Mask and frankly didn't feel any noticeable damage loss from the loss of Rod's AP. I think if Riot is looking to help out bruisers in the top lane, this item is potentially worth looking at, because it feels pretty busted to play with and against.
