Taric needs a buff (hear me out)
I'm gonna cut straight to the point and just say
is in a slightly decent spot right now. With that said I feel like he needs a buff to his heal. I dont really care for the stacking to be honest but since we have it lets work with it. Having an aoe heal is nice, but when the heal amount is complete garbage negligible then whats the point? I understand that having it be aoe now requires some power to me shaved off but the fact that anything short of 3 stacks of Starlight's Touch wont even out heal a tick of ignite is a problem. Old Taric could at least opt into maxing heal first against ap heavy lanes like (cokri+morg) but in its current state the heal is so negligible its not even worth maxing second. Lets take a quick comparison
New Taric: Heal per charge: 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 (+ 20% AP) (+ 1.5% bonus health) TOTAL HEAL: 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 / 180 (+ 60% AP) (+ 4.5% bonus health)
Old Taric: HEAL: 60 / 100 / 140 / 180 / 220 (+ 30% AP) (+ 5% bonus health)
Now right off the bat you might say its not that bad its pretty close to the same thing, and you would be right... for a single use. (I'm going to ignore the ap ratios because no taric worth his salt build AP when supporting). Lets take a look a typical botlane skirmish assuming no cdr and assuming proper use of bravado (not using 2 spells in a row).
Taric whether engaging or being engaged on taric will almost always stun first. (no bravado cd on heal) That would be follow by either a heal or shield depending on adc health but for this let say he heals (-12 seconds on heal) then comes the shield (-12 seconds on heal) next is....waiting... congrats you have 1 stack of your heal you can now heal up a couple minion shots worth of dmg
Unless you are using your ult in every fight (lets be honest that cd is too long to have it up every fight) you wont be hitting 3 stacks ever unless you only use 2 abilities on crazy long CDs and just wait for the third stack. At that point you've lost the fight.
I could rant about this all day but basically I just think his heal needs a buff. Maybe have its health scaling higher (2.5-3% per stack) to compensate for the fact that you have to wait so long for a decent heal. I would be perfectly ok with taking a hit to dmg somewhere else for this trade off. After all hes supposed to be a protector.
TL;DR: Aside from a straight numbers nerf the fact that heals now need to be stacked makes it impractical. It feels wrong when bravado encourages constant spell weaving but the heal discourages use until its at max stacks.
