I actually don't even mind Mordekaiser that much
At least unlike every other ADC, when he one shots you in 3 auto attacks it isn't because of bullshit crit and it isn't from ranged with Red slowing you.
At least it made it so bot lane wasn't only Ranged ADs and a support, at least now it's Mordekaiser and Ranged ADs. Honestly if a few more other viable Melee ADs can rise it'd be fine, especially if we got some niche counter to Morde if he proves to still be too powerful.

could work supposedly. It's just a little boring fighting a Ranged AD, generally one of the same 3 (Jinx, Vayne, Kalista), or Morde every time, and I'm not even usually playing bot lane.
It just sucks because basically the meta is protect the ADC because outside of ridiculous post-buff champs like Darius and bonkers ass Sated Devourer, but Devourer is disabled and Juggernauts are permabanned. And since ADCs are so important now, we end up with Thresh, Braum and Tahm every game since they protect ADCs the best.
And since ADCs are protected so well, this means assassins aren't viable. And with DPS ADCs (again, Jinx, Vayne, Kal) so popular no tanks can get played, and even if they aren't, when Sated was enabled still they got Shredded in a nano second by BotRK + Sated.
And it all just leaves the jungle in such an awkward area, too. Sated is disabled, Tanks have been nerfed so much, and AP junglers are generally Meh (bar Diana and Elise, one of which is often banned and the other is rarely played jungle), and lots of Warrior champs are... Well, not too great in the meta, examples being 
(too much peel right now) 
(kiting + peel, gets hurt a lot by high mobility champions, which are especially popular right now), and 
after so many ult changes, especially the Season 4 one that stops him from landing faster, he just scales so damn poorly into late game. Sure, early game you can do great, but in the end you're still useless as hell in teamfights.
It's not even like specific champions are that powerful. Vayne and Kalista can still get wrecked by some champions, especially high mobility mid laners
who can pursue them and kill them quick enough. And Jinx obviously is super immobile, so not only can the above destroy them, but so can other low mobility champs like 
.
I don't know, the game just seems too focused on bot lane right now. Maybe occasionally a mid laner can get super fed and matter, or someone one of the new Juggernauts slipped through bans, but outside of that it general seems like a game of VIP, the VIP always being an ADC. But pretty much any other top laner or jungler without Sated is irrelevant unless they're Vi, in which you get a trump card.
