Positive WInrate, Loosing 20+ LP and Gaining 15 LP

Before patch 8.24, i was in Gold V, after that I got promoted to Gold IV, I played a few ranked games solo and to my surprise I only got 14 LP for my first game (I never got 14 LP ever before). And the next few games I got 16,15 and 15, then I lost one ranked game to loose 20 LP. And my winrate is positive, its 54.4%, I also have this icon on my profile near the gold shield that says im being protected for a few games and can get demoted if I loose, this wasnt there before the patch. I was wondering is this really a patch bug or does the game give less LP after you get promoted even if you have a positive winrate.
