Lag due to new update?

Anybody else notice many more lag spikes after the newest update hit? i used to always be at around 29 ping and now its either 40 or 1700 which seems really weird. Wondering if it has something to due with this new update or if my computer just sucks now. I am always hardwired to my internet. [zombie-nunu-bummed]
