I have notices an aggravating number of times I have commanded Malzahar to cast this, and it's as if there is a hitch where even though he makes the motion the enemy gets just out of range or just into a bush and the spell doesn't actually get off. there is no cast time, but it acts like it has like a .25-.5 sec cast. I think making his spells "more instant" would make him more playable without getting him out of balance.

I think it's pretty fair. All spells have a cast time, he just doesn't have a pronounced animation for it.

I have noticed it, but considering how good of a mage duelist he Is I don't mind it.

Yeah, I have noticed that aswell since i kinda main Malzahar. I think this is intended though (not 100 percent sure) and the spell itself is really powerful. Probably one of the best non ultimate abilities in the game.

I'm not saying it's unfair. I am saying that if it were to be truly instant, that he would be more enjoyable to play, and that the slight buff wouldn't hurt balance-wise. There have been games where he raised his hands a dozen times to cast it and couldn't finish the cast. There are games when it doesn't happen at all. It can be aggravating as hell at its worst, and it's okay in a game where the casts get off, but it would be sweet and fun if it was instant. It is like an "eh" Vs "Woot!" when playing him, where the "Woot!" doesn't take too much adjustment or cause too much imbalance.
