Zyra Changes
I know Riot was/is kicking around changing Zyra's passive a bit so I decided to voice my thoughts on where Zyra is and what would be some good changes to her. I really like Zyra as a champ, she is leagues territorial plant champion. The problem with her is that her kit is lackluster compared to other champions that do some of the same things.
The closest in my opinion in no particular order are: Anivia, Lux, Azir, and Heimerdinger. This is not just based upon ability types but also the roles they play in league.
I picture Zyra as kinda a conglomeration of those four. A ranged harass/zone control mage. She doesn't have anything in her kit that completely unique (like Riot is trying to do).
So here are my changes (without making it a rework) that I think will make her feel more like a plant/one with the environment.
Q: No change.
W: Passive is still the same. Active: Increase the seed life span to 1-2 mins (actual value to be based on balance). Still a max of two stored but you can plant 6-8 (balance again) (This will make her more territorial and less likely to only plant a seed right after/before using another ability, which is all I ever see people doing)
E: No change.
R: No change.
Passive: New: Zyra designates one of her planted seeds as a stationary Zyra plant offspring. This plant does not have a time limit but can be destroyed (like pinks). There can only be one of these on the map at a time but (after being destroyed) will go on a cooldown before being able to be planted again. (Zyra can choose to destroy it herself by recasting her passive in order to re-position but it still puts it on cooldown) While near this plant (radius to be balanced) Zyra gets increased mana and health regeneration. Also if Zyra takes lethal damage within this zone she does not die but instead goes underground and slowly moves back (can be followed by enemies) to her offspring plant and is regrown with minimal health and mana (balance on how much). Can only be proc'd once every 2 mins (balance). This offspring plant can only be grown in brush since it needs highly fertilized earth (stops players from planting it under their tower or in their fountain or something)
These changes I think will strengthen Zyra's identity as a territorial plant without making her OP. Making her unique in a way that she will be probably the best defensive mage in the game but "ehh" at the other roles like offense or initiation or assassinating.
Let me know what you all think!
