Despite how most others feel, I actually really like this season
Most of the champions that I face against HAVE counterplay as compared to the past. If I lose, whether it's a close game or a curb stomp, I feel as though I was thoroughly outplayed by the enemy. Note I said most champions, there are a select few that I don't feel has accessible counterplay whether it is within the kit itself or having items strong enough to fix potential counterplay in a kit. Examples of this are
. Can't think of much else. With Garen and Udyr, the issues lie in items. Things like
give Garen and Udyr enough movement speed while they are naturally tanky that they are very hard to kite or catch out. Garen's form of counterplay is that he isn't good at tower taking or split pushing, so he's reliant on teamfights unless really ahaed, so his own team will be what counterplays him, but he should be strong damage wise while weak in mobility since he's a juggernaut, yet with items shown above his kit was weakened so that he doesn't deal as much damage while allowing the mobility. For Udyr, right now it's a similar issue, enough mobility from items and his own kit that he can run around the map going from tower to tower while being incredibly difficult to catch. His form of counterplay is usually in his team, and whether or not they can hold whatever lane he isn't in. For these, I feel it would be better for most items to give % MS rather than flat, so it's less effective on people who are meant to be slow. Possibly lower what the standard "lowest" base MS is from 325 to 320 or 315?
For Graves, it's honestly just the scaling of his that is a bit awkward, with one or two items his damage becomes really bursty while being hard to dodge since he can combo it all pretty fast. Haven't fought him with the latest changes though so not sure if the Q delay is help.
Aside from those 3, every other champion either has skillshots with fair speeds or delays, kits, or stat set ups that are fair and hold counterplay.
for example, she's really weak when focused or has CC layered on her. Yes she has her Riposte, but baiting it out with weak CC first then hitting hard is good counterplay, as well as using CC to make her want to Riposte so she is immobile for 0.75 seconds, which is enough for allies to prepare damage.
Plenty of skill shots and very obvious where his forms of escape will place him, so you can place CC right where he will be. He can outplay you, and you can outplay him. When he ults, you know he will land BEHIND his target, so you can aim CC to hit him immediately. Weak in teamfights.
Only faced him twice this patch, both times my time had a lot of CC to he became irrelevant fast. Not sure what he's like when ahead, so not too sure but so far seems fair.
If you land any CC on her, she WILL die unless her team peels for her. Enough said. Is also weak to burst.
When he E's fairly telegraphed where he'll land, so can prepare CC for after, and will generally die once locked down.
While they are frustrating, I recognize there are better ways I could play to beat them, and I was simply outplayed.
