SO yuumi gets to attach and heal and shield and cast a powerful ultimate all being untargetable? This seems so incredibly unbalanced. I rooted yuumi with a spell and she just attached to a nearby champion ally instantly after.

CC affects Yuumi the same way it does with any other champion while she's unattached.

Root Yuumi before she can dash = easy kill Root Yuumi when she's in range of an ally = waste of a CC Exception: displacements, instants, and knockdowns,. Veigar Nautilus Draven Ryze
