Bard, the worst support in the game

I just wanted to bring this up and see who else agrees with me. In my eyes Bard is without a doubt the worst support in the game even with the coming buffs I still don't see him being anywhere NEAR where he needs to be in order to get competitive play let alone even in normal games. Post and let me know what you guys think would be a good way to improve Bard as we seriously need to see some changes before he starts becoming a real choice for support.

Bard gets his own category; he isn't SUPPOSED to be support, he's supposed to be Jungle. Jungles wander.

It's in his NAME, the WANDERING Caretaker.

...Although Bard support defiantly doesn't sound... promising.

I think people just aren't accustomed to playing him yet... and he requires a fair bit of skill imo.

You can use his ult defensively AND offensively. Ult your team to avoid a global ultimate, or ult the backline/frontline of your enemy team to either destroy their carries or destroy their frontline so they have no peel.

And a bard who drops three health packs in my jungle for my first clear is basically pitching up a tent for me at bot lane.

The statistics are pretty damning; I didn't even realize it was possible for a Support to have a 38% winrate. Still, I think they can only be so aggressive with buffs or risk accidentally breaking the champion (as hard as that may be to imagine). It may take a few patches, but he's a new champion who's in the spotlight, and I think they will get him to a reasonable spot eventually. There's a lot of buffs on the PBE.

From my other post. To make him balanced:

  1. Instead of powering up attacks on every 5 chimes, make it power up on every 4
  2. Increase auto attack range to 525
  3. Increase movement speed up to 335
  4. Reduce mana cost on caretaker's shrine(heals) by 20, and up the heal base by 25

Fixed!

The thing is, he will NEVER be a yoloQ support. He is based on roaming (i guess? never played him but it's what ppl say). Like, drop some health boxes and roam. YoloQ supports (the vaaast majority) have no clue how/when to roam. So they end up leaving with both enemy laners in lane and let them take your bot tower. Then "lolz nuub adc, im plying roaming support. u dnt neeeed me holdin ur hand in lane".
