I strongly urge you to support my petition to implement Voice Chat in League of Legends.
I believe that implementing an official voice chat system into League of Legends will benefit both Riot and League of Legends players in a myriad of ways. After reading several posts that both support and oppose the implementation of voice chat into League, I have come to the conclusion that every "con" that Voice Chat may bring to the game is very easily avoidable, but the benefits are plentiful.
I just finished a game where my team was winning quite handily. We had destroyed the enemies mid inhibitor and both of their Nexus towers but were unable to take their Nexus. We retreated back to our base to heal up and regroup. Our Lee-Sin went into the jungle alone and got caught out. This caused a chain-reaction of bad decisions caused by panic, that lead to our Lux and Nunu to get caught as well. Because we'd hit late game and re-spawn times were so long, we ended up losing the game because of one small mishap that could have easily been prevented with better team communication. Even though we were winning the entire game!
League is an EXTREMELY teamwork centered game and sometimes pinging is not enough. Stopping to type can backfire quite easily and some people are not great typists. Perhaps if I had the ability to simply say "Hey Lee, dont go in there alone", he wouldn't have, and we may have won the game.
I've heard people argue that Voice Chat would bring more toxicity to the League community, but I argue that the exact opposite would occur. It is really easy to rage behind a keyboard, but screaming at someone over the phone or into a mic is entirely different. Hearing a person's reaction to being belittled brings a more human element into the situation, and I feel that most people would avoid raging because of this. However, if someone is yelling or cursing at you and you don't want to hear it anymore, the solution would obviously be as simple as clicking a button to mute them.
Adding Voice Chat into League would increase teamwork, create for a better community with less toxicity, and help people enjoy their gaming experience. Players that don't want to be bothered with Voice Chat can just mute everyone. Perhaps even have an option to turn voice chat off altogether.
PS Riot: Everyone knows that players that are happy with a game spend more money on it, and I STRONGLY believe that adding Voice Chat into League of Legends would make for a happier community of players and a healthier gaming experience.
I strongly urge you to vote "Yes" in the poll below to show Riot that you support the implementation of an official Voice Chat system into League of Legends.
Thank you for reading and I hope to see you out on the Fields of Justice!
EDIT: I find is absolutely shocking that the players of a game requiring this much teamwork and team coordination are opposed to a better way to communicate with their teammates (that nearly EVERY SINGLE ONLINE GAME HAS). It literally makes no sense to me. Especially considering there is a good chance it would reduce toxicity within the community.
