I'm afraid Kayn will be permabanned

Kayn looks like he's going to be tons of fun to play- his kit seems incredibly fluid, the gameplay seems crisp (a la' Azir's auto attacks crisp) and he seems like an interesting champion in his own merit.

...but, I'm afraid he's going to instantly enter Yasuo-levels of permabanned and never, ever see play until he's nerfed through the floor or totally irrelevant.

What are the chances that he gets tuned to a fair point so that he can enter the rift on "acceptable" terms?

His strength isn't even in the same realm as Yasuo or Cait. His ganks aren't even going to be amazing because he lacks hard CC. He won't be permabanned because honestly, he's not THAT strong.

Pawnce was saying Kayn had low damage for an assassin. We shall see

He'll be banned to oblivion for the first month or so not because of his power level, but because he's new and people always ban new champs for various reasons independent of the champs theoretical power level.

How he'll fair after that will depend more on his power and if other champs are more frustrating to deal with, but my initial impression on reading his stuff didn't show anything that seemed really unfun to play against (e.g. yasuo windwall), so as long as he's relatively balanced numberwise he's someone who will probably get through. (That said, he may end up starting off OP numbers wise, get nerfed to a 'balanced' state that is still totally viable, but people will dismiss him as gutted and abandon him despite not actually being underpowered since they've tasted the OP version.)

After maybe a week of "Ban new champ" and people seeing him in games he gets through He'll have a fairly median ban and pick rate. He's fun-ish But not like the Akali/Zed "boom headshot" kinda fun, closer to a Lee or Riven type of "That was a good use of these buttons" satisfaction, but unlike Lee and Riven that use/satisfaction isn't sick damage with mobility, he's almost Methodical in a sense that good timing on E and R can keep you stuck to the slipperiest of targets but the Q-W damage levels are nothing to write home about. He does shine when paired with a hard engage kinda wombo-ey team and his sticky sustain can let him really clean up, and he's not bad at Split pushing with not much jungle pick competition for that right now. But even doing really really well he doesn't Feel like the impossibly fed Yasuo destroying teams or the 3 item Unduelable Raid boss Fiora.
