Red side has a full 2% higher winrate than Blue side. What's up with that?

I was just looking at this: https://www.leagueofgraphs.com/infographics/patch-9-24-infographics

And I saw that there's a solid 2% gap between the winrates for red and blue side. It used to favor blue side by about 1-2%, now it's flipped since the recent patches? What could have caused this sudden swing?

Any ideas?

Maybe drake terrain.

It's because you have easier access to the dragon

Maybe it has to do with the fact that on blue side the bot lane has that little pathway behind them close to the turret that leaves them more vulnerable to a flank then the red side.

All has to do with the jungle difference IMO. Starting red is just better imo, so if you rely on leashes you don't have an option.

I say again, it's the bot lane leash. OP even says before it was blue side earlier, when you couldn't get level 3 off of blue buff side jg. Now that you can start blue, it is jg preference to start blue, and red side gives better leash on blue buff.

Red side has better dragon control.

Red side always has the better players. Riots map USES to be at a disadvantage for Red side so when teams are not 50/50 the team with the better players gets Red side.

In todays games and with Dragons that means Red will win more flat out.

If it wasn't because of this game revolving around Dragon Pit this time around, I remember at the time that it was because of perspective error. Since we're heavily dependent on what we can see on the game's camera, what we can't see hinders us and so desired clicking is always a problem. For example, have you ever remember being top lane and clicking to path directly behind the turret? What about trying to click onto the enemy when they're right behind the tower? Another common mistake with visual error is flashing from a desired spot. While you can flash one side, visually speaking- it is harder to see if you have cleared it on the mirrored side of the map- plus auto pathing has made it quite hard to identify when you have reached an edge of something because when and or if you have, auto pathing can screw that up very easily by simply "readjusting position".

there is actually a video on this, its psychology based basically there is no actual advantage to either side with the exception of buff placements

I suspect it might have to do with jungling. There is more gold in the red side jungle along with more experience points. Also, the top side jungler is usually only leashed by top, while bot is leashed by adc and support. Which makes the clear easier and incurring less damage. It should be champion dependent, but I think most people will start bot regardless.

I'm sure that people feel more comfortable playing up the screen then down as well.

Red side starts with ideal bot leash at blue because bot lane duo leash. I guarantee you the blue side start statistically has worse jg results, and jg is so broken the extra seconds starting with a top leash(which is sometimes no leash at all) van be game ending at start.
