Why does remake require a vote at all?

I just had a game where it was a 4v5 straight from the start, with our top not connecting. I naturally voted for /remake at the 3 minute mark, but for whatever reason the rest of my team didn't, I think they were a premade or something.

Why is this even a thing? Why do we even need to vote on remakes if someone's not even in the game from the beginning? They even refused 2 early ff votes and 1 ff vote at 23, where I just DC'd because I'm not gonna be held hostage in an unwinnable game. There really should be no reason whatsoever that a remake shouldn't be automated if there's a DC at the 3 min mark.

It requires a vote because it shouldn't be up to one person if they want to end a game or not. Just like how surrenders require at least a 4-1. Remakes only require 2 people. However, having all that power up to one person could be bad. They might remake simply because of who they are up against.

More importantly, if a player connects but literally never leaves the fountain area, why can't you remake? The argument of bullying someone to leave the game doesn't hold true if they joined the game but clearly had no intention of playing. If someone hasn't left the fountain for the first x minutes, that's a clear 4v5.

I'd just leave at that point. Not gonna be held hostage to that bullshit.

If the rest of the team is willing to play 4v5, I'm sure they'll be happy to play 3v5.

Because they can still reconnect afterwards.

It's not like missing the first 1:30 of laning phase will completely make you useless and set you behind for the rest of the game. /s

say somebody says they have to relog and they do but remake comes up in the meantime it is very likely one player will decide to vote for a remake even if the player said they would be right back 2 players is a nice balance
