Power Creep Getting Worse

Riot has long history of buffing more than nerfing. This doesn't necessarily mean they buff more often than they nerf, although sometimes they do. This primarily means that the buffs they make typically impact the meta a lot more for a longer period of time than their nerfs. The results of the power creep can most recently be seen in Jinx. Jinx was extremely OP at one point, dominating the meta until Riot gave her some substantial nerfs, after which she fell into mediocrity for a long time. Now recently, they reverted those nerfs and Jinx is now essentially identical to how strong she was when she was considered OP. Yet somehow, in a meta where scaling late-game hypercarry adcs like Twitch, Tristana, and formerly Kog'Maw are tier 1, Jinx still sits at just a mid-tier 2 performance. The reason for this is that the average power levels of champions in the game have been slowly but steadily increasing over the years, so what was OP a year or two years or three years ago if placed in today's game would just be an average champion. I'm concerned because I enjoy playing League, its one of my favorite past-times, and I've seen what unchecked power creep can to do games.
