Explaination on Kat's damage please

Good morning all, I just lost a game to a kat who pretty much soloed our team, this is not the first time I have seen this happen and I'm sure it won't be the last. The jungle did feed her pretty hard so her damage was expected. What I'm having a hard time with is how much damage she could do to me given how tanky I was at the time. I was Nasus with a fair build, I think I had 160 MR at the time which is roughly 60% magic damage reduction if I rememeber correctly, and kat just ran up and soloed me in about 2 seconds. Checking my death stats I saw that she did 3.2k damage to me with her ult. Now with my 60% magic damage reduction then that means her ult is capable of doing around 8k damage to 1 player with no resists. I'm not screaming for nerfs here but I just don't understand how a champ can have so much damage potential. Yes she did have magic pen but even so, that's still alot. Is it that the armor and magic reduction % stats just total bs?

Someone make me smarter please...

Firstly, don't trust death recap. You barely had 3.2k health.

You had 3478 health (1.03*(650+2091+600+36)) and 58MR after reductions ((53.4+9+25+55)*0.65-35)

This means that the maximum amount of magic damage you could take is 5495 (This is your effective HP against magic damage. It is easier to work with than percentages). Katarina's ultimate could deal only 3562 damage (assuming she doesn't get enough resets to use it twice, and if she did you would have died anyway). 3562/5495*3478=2255 HP. She could only have dealt 2255 damage to you with one ultimate. You also have no excuse for being in her ultimate for the full duration. Death recap is wrong.

Now, why does Katarina get high damage? Because it is relatively easy to stop her from getting all of it off. Quite frankly, you lost that in team select. You didn't have a guaranteed way of quickly shutting her damage off, and she had a large amount of peel. You just got out picked.

Also, don't discount Vayne. Given how bad death recap is, we don't know how much damage she did in that last fight. I am betting a lot.

She has high damage because it's the only thing she does. She has no CC, no tank stats, no utility at all. She offers one thing and one thing only to her team, heavy AoE damage.

Also Void Staff + Sorcs + the mastery would drop a pretty nice amount of your MR at that point.

If she didn't do damage, what good would she be? She offers no real form of CC, no utility at all, so lets gut her damage!

She needs buffs. A knockback on her ult would be nice to give her some utility.

If you weren't the first to die you most likely got hit by more than one spell rotation. She's an assassin, damage is what she's supposed to do.

op say so much bs. ulti does nowhere from 8Kdmg with no resist it's only 2.5ap ratio. you would need 3Kap to do this lol. and people upvote this troll, i cant believe how community is so screwed here.
