Being a mage main who finally played there first assassin ever assassins are easy
So Im a silver 3 player who is an extensive fan of mages or tanks when laning in top or mid. My main is eve jg (who in case anyone here is an idiot is not an assassin as she can't 100-0 someone until 40+ minions in if she builds full damage .P.S. which is generally a bad idea unless they have 2 weak dueling hyper carries) I decided that I should probably try to learn an assassin as I don't play any of them (barring a few games on alkali
(who's easiness i thought was just her)). Turns out that in my first game as Ekko
top I won lane (while having no idea how his abilities worked vs a Diamond 2 player on Lissandra (who counters assassins) then proceeded to do more damage than the majority of my team. Next game of ekko top I won lane again quite easily. Im basically realizing that assassins while far from OP do require far less skill to pull of than immobile mages/even many tanks in some cases. Team fights were notably harder than laning as assassins but at the same time they were still rather easy (nowhere near the difficulty most people say they are). In addition many of the "outplays" that people talk about showing high skill cap were very easy to pull off (Ulting back out of liss ult as she's about to cast it then e qing her as she exits, casting w behind you in a team fight and utling into it etc etc.)
At least now i know why all the assassins I play have atrocious game sense
TLDR, From my experience Assasins have much lower skill base and much lower skill ceiling than people claim, this in turn leads to people at mid elo silverish who main assassins to have far worse game sense as they don't require it tol do well on there champs/explains why people who play so much assassins claim its elo hell
EDIT: Well this is interesting as a general response to some of the people who responded -Generally when I play a champion for the first time be they a tank, mage marksman etc., I often will feed horribly or just not fill in the role I should be doing. Even if I may have lots of experience with the role (I.E. my first few games as Cass I went 1-7 etc. until I got more experienced with her and can pull of a consistantly good score 9-3, 8-5-, 10-2 etc.) In comparison I noticed that on my very first game as Ekko (Who i classify as much more of an assassin) I found myself doing quite well which surprised me as many assassins such as him are called "high skill cap/high skill base" which from my experience appears to be bs.
