The matchmaking system is broken

Hi I just turned level 30 and have played 4 of my 10 ranked placement matches but in all of them I have been matched with platinum and gold players who are all far better than I am and I have been letting my whole team down. I checked on OP.GG and it is saying that my MMR is 1,580 and I am likely to be placed in Gold III. Why is this I am nowhere near good enough for Gold III and despite me getting absolutely destroyed in all my ranked games my MMR has only increased. Some people might tell me to keep trying and eventually my MMR will go down until I am being matched with people my own skill level but this is not an option because after each game my teammates have practically begged me to stop playing ranked because I have been ruining the game for them. How did my MMR get so high in the first place? And how can I lower it? If I stop playing ranked will my MMR decay or do I need to stop playing LOL entirely, and how long would it take to lose 600 MMR. I have contacted Riot and asked them to change it but they refuse so can someone please help because right now the only solution I see is to lose games on purpose. Thanks

Your mmr will not go down if you don't play. If you do placements every season but don't play that much your rank will probably go down.

Your MMR before Ranked Games is based off the hidden MMR behind your Normal games. Riot has deemed it that you qualify for your "Plat and Gold" teammates and enemies because you're skill level is that higher than silvers and bronzes. If Riot had a system to lower MMR through brute forcing their way into the code that would be heavily abused by smurfers who want to start out in low elo such as Bronze or Silver. It's probably what you don't want to hear but it's there.
