"I picked jg/mid because it's the highest chance of me getting jungle"

"I picked jg/mid because it's the highest chance of me getting jungle, although I have absolutely no idea how to play mid, so when I get autofilled or mid I put my team in a disadvantge from champ select given I or someone in my team will be 90% forced into a role they don't know, and not any role, just the 2 most influential in the game."

This is simply not right and something should be done about it, now 99% of the games I go into have this scenario making it more uncomfortable than when you had to yell your role. And this is something that SPECIALLY annoys me because even when I click "fill" I still get people on my team who got either autofilled or "mid although I have no idea how to play mid", what's the fucking point of fill if you'll still end up with a couple of teammates underperforming, the "fill" role should at least be guaranteed everyone on your team got their primary role, or just bring back that "fill" puts you into support basically, because it's more annoying to deal with these discussions 9/10 games rather than playing a support game 1/10 games...

EDIT:

I guess most of you didn't understand the first paragraph is from the point of view from whoever does this, rather than my point of view, my point of view is the second paragraph.

I mean if you get mid, Just pick something easy to play like Annie or Morgana, then play safe.

Odd you say that because I frequently find that people want mid. Often, they are happy to swap whatever role for mid. And, I'm more than happy to oblige.

I find it's better to have a person who is competent and knows what the heck they are doing in the other roles - rather than having yet another griefer on the team.

BTW, the odds of you having a team where everyone is happy or semi-happy in their role hinges on the role that you practice and prepare for. It's sort of a Monty Hall problem. And, it's an interesting statistics exercise:

  • If you are a person who regularly queues for the high demand positions (i.e., jungle or mid), then you can count on seeing a griefer in your game occurs more frequently than a person who queues for less popular positions (adc or support). It jumps to about 60% if you do this. That is, over half of the time you will be guaranteed to get someone who is not quite happy with the position they got.
  • If you queue for top, interestingly the odds of encountering griefers drops slightly to about 50%. That's right - only half of the time. (See if you can figure this one out. ;) )
  • If on the other hand, you are a botlane specialist (i.e., adc or support), then your odds of encountering griefers drops to roughly 30%.

Now, this being said, the odds do shift slightly as you move up and down the ranks. But not by much...

So you make the bed you sleep in, when you queue for the Rift. [slayer-jinx-wink]

In my case I excel in mid lane and do well as a support. But I know that if I make mid as a my primary and make support as my secondary, I'm just going to be playing support a lot. Feelsbadman.

I go jg/top and get auto filled support more than I get top... so I don't think jg/mid is even needed anymore to get jg..

lmao i use to do that. Thats not necessary anymore because they made it so that if you pick support as one of your roles you're no longer forced to support every game. I had to do that in order to get jungle/support 50/50. Since i like both, but don't love support enough to ONLY play support.
