"RNG is bad game design" LET'S ADD CRIT TO EVERYTHING.
Just an odd choice by Riot that I noticed. Thoughts?

It's not the first time they've done something like this. Who remembers when they were talking about mobility creep as a problem and then decided to put dashes on almost every new champion?
you see, there's no RNG- it's 100% so there's no chance to miss it! :D
The title is a bit misleading, as RNG isn't terrible by itself and Riot have never said that RNG is bad game design (Illaoi's tentacle spawning passive is sort-of-random and works fine, for example). The marksman update suggests Rito's trying to integrate crit as a proper form of scaling for ADCs beyond just increasing basic attack DPS, as well as trying to tone down instances of crit feeling really lucky/unlucky whenever each crit feels like more or less of a coin flip. A core issue with RNG crit is that, in small amounts, it feels really janky and makes for really cheesy lanes (hello Tryndamere), and the path Riot took was to remove some raw AD from marksman items and instead put more power into more reliable crit, so that any such period gets minimized.
With that said, I think they could have done better with crit, and overhauled the system completely. I'm not a fan of RNG in general, and I think it should not exist if it can be at all avoided, and crit is, in my opinion, one such case: on top of the issue of crit coin-flips not being completely resolved, the core issue with crit right now, imo, is that it carries a ton of power but adds little to no gameplay, despite being central to an entire class of champions. I think it's okay for "raw" stats like AD, AP or defenses to provide mostly passive bonuses, since they're very general stats and already integrate naturally into the gameplay provided by actives, passives, etc., but as a stat that revolves exclusively around basic attacks and prolonged combat, crit itself has the potential to add so much more unique play, but doesn't. On top of that, the current model of crit means there's not much power that can be tagged onto the stat besides just more raw damage, which heavily limits the power expression marksmen can have in that respect (champions like Ashe, Kog'Maw or Kalista would perhaps like to trade off crit damage for more utility or CC, for example). Overall, marksman itemization has massively improved, but I think there's still room for a better crit model, one that could tag interesting gameplay to the stat (and none of this has to buff marksmen as a class, nor buff marksmen or melee carries exclusively, imo).
lmfao who thought it was a great idea... for yasuo simply getting
that immediately lets him get 100% crits, while having a 15% sustain on crit for every single Auto attack?

my right arm is a lot stronger than my left arm
You can get 100 Crit chance now without crit runes.
So what happens to adc that dont rely on crit hmm riot?
We just forget them?
Riot nvr said RNG was bad game design. Salty tryhards on the boards said that, and we all know why riot doesn't listen to them.
more crit -> less RNG
RNG is not bad game design - and it looks like they improved some items while making others significantly worse.
"We’re trying Mordekaiser out as a duo lane juggernaut, intended to step up in lieu of a regular marksmen pick." then buffs to all the marksmen... k...
Crit isn't even RNG.
If you have 50% crit and crit once, your crit chance for the next auto is actually lower than 50%. If you have 50% crit and don't crit, your crit chance for the next auto is higher than 50%.
It doesn't work like normal probability. It is to make sure you don't get loads of crits in a row/ no crits at all. It just became a stupid meme because of dumb pros blaming everything on RNG.
That's not actually a bad idea, it just has weird consequences for Yasuo.
the new item change. crit for day. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs] I LIKE IT.
In my opinion critical strikes should be removed from the game, because however many crit chance you have, it's always RNG (maybe not including 0% and 100%). Because i'm pretty unlucky, some games i striked critically even less than 10 times entirelly, when having ~50%, while enemy ADC was dealing crits like every AA by having just 25% (IE value)
