2017 rank season

As of now and the previous days. 2017 rank season has seemed to already have happened with solo/duo queue and flex 10 game placements. So it's official now? And at the end of season 7 there will be awards for both rank modes? Also, rank season has started earlier than last year if I remember.... that was quick. Flex is going to be a pain starting in low divisions first.
