Creative ideas for rune changes!!

My first idea was inspired by diablo 2 runes.

My idea is to change runes from boring slot placements that are just more bland stat checks to a Runetarrian alphabet. The player would combine letters to form words, phrases even, and gain an effect. Maybe a few words or phrases at first with possible updates or new additions? It might be balance hell, but i imagine runes being like mini mini champions with new words and phrases created regularly. they are words and it shouldn't be as hard to flesh out a phrase as it is a person; even though i know that it could be many times more difficult.

Where you place the word in your book matters as well! Not everything changes. Blue slots are for magic, red for enhancements, and yellow for defensive. Each section could have a different number of allowed slots. Quints can change your rune slots shaping a slot into another. You would give up a magic slot for an enhancement slot or defensive slot; and vice versa. If you really wanted explosions instead of explosion?

For level difference just give lower level players less slots to work with or a limit on letters.

Fail safe idea in case i am too ambitious As long as you have a rune with letter or number on it it counts as giving you power for that slot type. Differing degrees of slot power can bring about varying effects.

Runes are made to be read and give power. They give a certain freedom to individuals creative enough to make words power. To me that is the real fantasy of runes.

My idea for conversion of runes is based on the teir of a rune; the player would throw it into the hex-tec crafter and disassemble a blank rune or a Runetarrian letter or both. The player would then combine the blank rune and letter to get that rune. Letters can be re rolled with blank runes or nothing really up to you guys. The reason is if you already have high teir runes then you should already be able to do the things necessary for your investment lvl.

The Pride of this game is play and win not pay to win so obviously like the current runes letters and blank runes will cost ip. also imo Blank runes should be really cheap. You dont pay for phrases but to put multiple letters into slots you will need more of that letter. Thanks for reading!
