[Long Rant?] I'm bored.

I recently returned to this game after a five-month hiatus. Why? Because I wanted to play some League (so, burn-out isn't a reason I quit.) I was bored and frustrated with the meta back then, and decided to give it another chance now because why not? Of course, after five to ten games, I go back to feeling the same way I did when I left where I'm left wondering "This? This is a competitive game?" Why? It doesn't feel like a competitive game and I can't put my finger on why. It doesn't feel like I can improve at this spot, and it doesn't feel like I have much of an impact where I do.

I know there will likely be any number of people telling me that I'm wrong with everything here, and that's fine... but I don't understand why Riot, if they in all their greed, can't just admit they're being greedy. They'll get a lot less heat for it, breed a lot less flame (against the people who say they're greedy and their valiant, white-armoured defenders) and in general just be respected for blunt honesty even if it's something we won't want to hear. In place of making the game competitive, they speed it up and cease to address certain problems it has all while saying this "isn't intended" when it very clearly is, to mimic TSM-style play and get people on that grinding treadmill up the ranks to make more money for Riot via either transactions, skins or... becoming a new competitive player.

If they just admitted to their greed, they'd be out of the hot water that'll soon boil over and end in the worst way an admission of guilt could - they'd just lose a few players while the valiant lovers and defenders keep on playing the game like they always do. All they had to do was admit the game shifted from a focus on friendly, calm and tactical gameplay to toxic, frantic and twitch gameplay style and everyone would be "Well, that's that" but... I have a feeling the reason they don't is even scummier - even if in the end they are losing as many players (if not more) from the toxicity and conflict, the veterans still hold out hope this game is what it once was, and Riot's just hoping that they spend as much money as possible before said veterans realize it isn't changing.

Do I really care? No. I, as a furry and as Orrion, feel fulfilled with or without League's entertainment... but all of you who want to hold onto this game for dear life, quit for only seven days and tell me - does it feel kind of odd that when you return to the game, and only when you do, that you feel the pull when you think of quitting and that you have that 'one more game' mentality which doesn't seem to stem from how fun it is? I'm not saying they're using subliminal messaging to influence people, but it's really iffy because I see no reason I should want to play another match -- but yet I still want to.

They aren't who you once knew. They appeal to a new audience, now, and it may be time for everyone hoping things get better to move on. It won't fulfill like it once did, at least in my experience and all I can say is -- if you hate the structure now, it will just get worse. I love you all. I'm out. Ahri
