Some thoughts about the improvement of grading system after game

I am a normal player which played a lot in normal games with my friends. Most of the people I know were confused about the grading system after game. I know there are lots of players who have the same thought with me. So I want to share a bit with you and hope riot staff can acknowledge our comment in order to improve the game we love.

Although riot mentioned the grading system is to compare your play to others, sometimes we confused why even though we play well enough but still can't get a S range. I think riot should add more statistics to it so that we know where to improve. For example a Nami got 2/1/19 in a 20 minutes game. This is a really good stat in a short game but he only got a A-. The next game he got 2/2/11 in a 23 minutes game which is slightly worse than the last game but still got a A-. Maybe he did not roam enough to help other lanes or maybe he placed not enough wards compared to others. So he got a A- but not higher. The only thought after his game was just confused why he didn't get a higher rank but he didn't know why.

The grading system should include statistics to show why he is not good enough. For example He only placed 5 wards which is 40% less than others in the same time of period. So he will know where to improve in the next game. In addition, it should shows where he is good at like he had 19 assists which is 70% higher than normal players. So he knows where he is good at and enhance his confident about it.

And also, I think the grading system should rank the player separately between ranked games and normal games. Sometimes it is unfair to players in ranked games because players are much more careful in ranked so the kills will become less.

This is a little thought about the grading system after game. Maybe it is useless but I just want to mention it to help to improve the game and players' feeling about the game. Wish this post is useful for them and make a better game.

I think Riot wants to keep the formula a secret so people aren't just playing for grades.

That said, there is more than just KDA. That is important ofc (the D being the most important from what I've seen...if you get 5+, better have an extra awesome game to get an S), but other things come into play. (A's count as K's for supp, for those that don't know).

This is all speculation and ofc exact numbers aren't known...

CS (except supp) - From what I have seen, you really need to be in the 7+/m range. Wards placed - supp mainly (I would think laners might have a small warding variable, but who knows)

i would think objectives might come into play, but who knows...and possible some other stuff.

After all that, you are then compared against others playing that champ. SO, meta champs (or other popular ones) will by the law of averages have more good games that you are competing against, and therefore harder to S on. This changes constantly ofc as games are recorded. SINCE it is always changing, even if Riot wanted to show you %s, it wouldn't help much because maybe his 20+ assists needed becomes 21+ for the next game?
