So, Lux Support and Autofill?
Hey Guys -
Started doing ranked last night, first game went really well. The thought process was to start as a AP support and switch to an AP carry throughout the game, which I was able to do. K? K. So, onto the next games. Since the first game went so well, and considering it was actually the toughest in terms of opponents, I decided to do the same thing for the next three games.
Let's not talk about how bad I did, because I'm thoroughly embarrassed about it still. Now, I intended on actually playing Lux mid and maybe a support fill once in a while as it was my section choice. I haven't played the game in a long time so this whole thing is new to me (accidently dodged my first promos not realizing I had to lock in my champ), so I did a mid select primary with a support secondary.
I ended up supporting every single game. I used to ADC main, so maybe I could do mid/adc - wow, maybe I'll actually have to do mid/adc so I can actually play support and mid a reasonable amount each, and if I end up adc I could always go back to my adc roots.
Ok, so question. Last time I played Lux support was actually kind of viable, same type of kind of viable as like Morgana support, actually. At the time she was a way better mid, as was Lux, but you could still do it and no one was upset about it.
Not only did my teammates seem a li'l triggered by my choosing Lux support (that new Lux elementalist video pmg), but it seemed like she wasn't that great? We went against a really good Thresh and I felt kind of... well, kind of useless in comparison to him. I'm trying to poke and he's healing his adc by being faceroll (lol, sorry, salty still), shielding, I mean -- ffss maybe ill buy Thresh ;_;
I guess if I'm going to end up being a support main I might as well actually play a damn support main, like my Leona/Nami/Sona days, it's just a little frustrating because I'd been practicing Lux/Annie/Ahri mid for a while and I'm not even getting an opportunity to play it.
Thoughts?

are really good if you need to get to lane faster to defend a turret or if you're planning on roaming a lot.
instead of Zeke's,
if you want the early CDR, or
or
for the first three items so that to go after me puts a lane in risk.
or
, but I haven't tested those out enough. I'd recommend coin if you think the lane is going to be really poke heavy and allows you some sustainable breathing room.
(boots depend on the game)
and the rest situational, like Rylai's or maybe a Ardents censor or Redemption if I think the team needs it late game. But if my bot lane is having a hard time, and the team is having a hard time, it's best to go support lux and forgo the extra damage. Get items that the team needs, maybe an Athene's to heal as you shield if there's a heavy fed AP carry on the enemy team, Redemption, ZZ'Rot, or others.
build on her with the last few items being situational.
