yet when my bruiser lane opponent like Jarvan IV goes 2 AD items and goes full tank he hits nearly as much as me (champion damage dealt) by the end of the game. What's the point of picking Tryndamere when melee base damages are so overpowered?

If Jarvan can do the same damage as you with only two AD items it's not Tryndamere who is the problem. Try building more attack speed and crit.

It's because his 2 armor items on you negate more damage than your 2 damage items on him put out.
