What is the most abusively powerful champion in 5.8?

My computer recently broke but i'm building a new one in 3 weeks time. When the time comes, i'd love to scale as far as I can during summer.

Apparently, according to TheOddOne TSM, alot of his scaling came when he played Evelynn after her buff. This mean't everyone couldn't identify her real power, never banning, and always letting him win. (Hence he pushed Diamond I just after). He basically said, when scaling, abuse the power of broken champions.

When I come back to life in 3 weeks, what is broken? It may change after the nerfs and buffs of the next updates but i'm curious as to now.

Um in a way I'd have to say it has and always will be Malphite. Think about this, every other champion has been Nerfed, or buffed, except Malphite. He's a damned shark, as in he hasn't really evolved much since the game began, and in the hands of most players he's dangerous. Love the big guy.

I like Malphite as to how he can use any stat you give him.

Like... trying to make a Rock Sculpture.

Gragas Cassiopeia are too powerful right now.

Cassiopeia currently wins every lane matchup and even if she loses, scales way too hard number-wise.

Blitzcrank can make the game an instant 4v5 with a good grab. Gragas can make it 3v5 while also dealing absolutely absurd damage.

No one is really "NERF NOW FREE WIN" broken atm

If you want a faceroller, Riven

In terms of broken champs, most AoE CC bruiser/tanks are really good right now. Stuff likeAmumu Sejuani Hecarim .

Riven Draven Zed have been always great for carrying when you are significantly better than your MMR bracket.

If you're in a lower elo (bronze/silver), want to climb, and have a lot of free time I recommend spamming support as much as possible, especially dashless backline supports like Janna Soraka Sona. This is really good for your MMR for a number of reasons:

  1. You'll gain a lot of positional awareness, since you need to be out of range of AoE/assassins but in range to shield/heal/poke.
  2. You'll get a lot better at poking the enemy laner - easy to learn in bot lane but helps in all roles except jungle.
  3. Most people support because they have to, not because they want to. Matchmaking isn't really able to take this into consideration, so if you've practiced a lot of support your team will, on average, be better than the enemy team.
  4. These types of support are good in nearly every meta and teamcomp, so it's pretty unlikely you'll have someone yelling at you.

Sure you'll get "uncarriable" games or whatever every once in a while, but if you're even slightly better than your opponents your LP gains will skyrocket.

In response to all of you, i've made a decision. I haven't been playing long enough to compare modern Malphite to season 2. For me, he's an aoe tank with a devastating ultimate. I'm going to try him out.

Also, to the person recommending supports, I completely understand and I can inform you that my main is Nami and besides that, Nautilus.

I'm extremely grateful for all your help.

Hecarim Sejuani are tied for first right now, having either one of these champions greatly increases your team fighting/pick/engage capabilities. and can really carry important team fights.

Gragas is way to powerful imo. I've never seen a gragas do poorly in like 2 months now. They either do ok or carry the game. It's never something in the middle.

I think that's the thing to look out for in soloq. If someone either does ok or ultra carry the game that's probably the best pick you can get since there's no downside to it. It was like the old tristana, either she won lane and won the game 1v5 or she lost lane but still scaled well enough to do decent.
