Please give us back old yorick

After coming back from long break from the game i am extremely sad to see how much they nerfed.....i mean changed yorick. honestly is there anyone that enjoys his new kit compared to old one?

After playing with him for a while i noticed a few things:

  1. passive Shepherd of Souls- this passive sucks due to the fact that your soul count stays bounded to area you are fighting in which means anytime you move from lane or head torwards a team fight you are left with graves all over the place without the ability to summon the undead.

-which leaves me to my biggest dissapointment- the fact yorick gets little to no minion interaction, the time you are able to summon minions is extremely short and low compared to before. mist walkers die too fast for all the set up required to even bring them out which leaves yorick feeling like a poor man's excuse of a bruiser.

the souls counter need to be universal at the very least not by position in map.

2)Q-last rites the amount of scaling of health back is extremely low

3)W-the wall this skill is ok i guess but i much rather prefer more minion focused like before.

4)E- this move is ok but feels weird sometimes to use due to animation and projectile speed

the ult is pretty cool but the cool down is humongous.

thus one of my favorite champions based on a minion master concept became a boring bruiser with a bad mechanic to summon anything. you barely see minions out throughout a game compared to before. This champion is completely boring now.

am i alone on this change sorry if its old news but i don't see anyone talk about it or even use yorick much

wasn't this supposed to make yorick more popular not less.

bring back our old minion master.

He suffered from the exact same problem as urgot. Early game champion which required a late game build path to function properly.

He had to be changed, whether this was the right change is debate able

His looks def got worse. He just looks looks like some generic non descript big guy. Old Yorrick had character. New guy is just meh.

Old yorick pretty much had 1 ability except with different side effects on each version. His kit was only used to do one thing which was sit in lane and spam minions to push harass. The mindless and toxic play style he had before is what got him reworked

I actually like new Yorick.

I am a Yorick main, both pre and post rework. Your assessments are not completely off.

Passive - a bit too long between grave generation early game, feels very boring as a passive in general Q - healing is minimal, does not feel very much like a sustain tool, only used to get graves and trade W - should interact with mistwalkers in some way (I suggest making graves based on rank 1/1/2/2/3 when the wall decays or is destroyed) E - feels totally fine to me (max it first because it scales the best with ranks of any of his skills currently, if they change W to my proposal though instantly maxing W first most of the time) R - too much power, remove the mistwalkers that come with it and reduce it's cooldown, then it will feel more balanced (especially if paired with the graves generation in W)

In short though, old Yorick was WAY stronger in all stages of the game (build him nearly full damage and just wreck people while taking 20% reduced damage and them come back from the grave to do it some more?!?!. . . was ridiculously OP, but everyone expected him to build full tank. oh well).

I like new Yorick, he's less hated by the community in general, which makes it easier for me to pick him and not get immediately flamed for being a troll (until I build him differently than others). I consider

They reworked him into a tank for new players. Like Poppy, he's not a primary fighter that can just steal the game, only a tank that split pushes the game to death and makes me want to leave the game when against because, like nasus, he never joins his team even after an hour into the game, leaving someone stuck in a different lane as he farms or avoid that by letting him take all turrets and inhibitor, only so he can move to another unoccupied lane and do the same thing.

Honestly, the rework made him "better" and maybe more competitively viable but now he really is no fun and doesn't feel unique. Old yorick was fun and unique. I haven't been able to find any champion that feels even slightly as fun as him since the rework and it has made me enjoy league a lot less...
