A quick and easy way to increase gragas's winrate without doing anything to his tanky jungle state

Buff his ap.

I am not even joking, the thing about gragas is that even though riot wants him to be a "drunken brawler" the fact is that people still play him ap. In the jungle or in other lanes, why is it that a champion intended for the jungle is actually played in the jungle only 75% of the time? People (myself included) play him ap because it is fun. But often lose because it is honestly lackluster in many areas unless you get lucky cheese kills early. What would my proposal be if this was to happen? Revert his ult damage back to old. People who play tank gragas wouldn't care while people who play him ap would have a more enjoyable experience, and in all honestly buffing his ult damage wouldn't instantly make him a 2 shotting sniper again.

Yeah... I'm pretty averse to that particular change. Remembering the days of Gragas mid still tilts me.

I think gragas brings enough utility (even specifically through his ult) that his ult scaling probably isn't the place to buff him. I also don't think it would help that much, since... missing that ult would be even more of his power budget down the drain.

I realize he has a low winrate, but I'm not sure that's SUPER indicative of his power level. He's one of very few disengage tank junglers (or non-junglers), and tends to do really well in a meta that revolves around peeling and disengaging. I'd say he probably needs scaling buffs toward his over-time damage, rather than his burst damage, if you want buffs to his AP builds. That would mean very small buffs to his tanky jungling role, and hefty buffs to his mid-late game AP builds.

Have you tried him in the preseason? Do you use Thunderlord's? Might help the burstiness.
