Draft Pick Issues

What is the point of a draft pick option if you stand a chance of being forced to spend 30-45 minutes playing a game as a character or role that you severely dislike? Then if you try and customize your experience to try and actually enjoy the game you are locked into via the summoners code you get extended queue times and risk being banned temporarily or even permanently. I'm curious if this is intended to be kept in the game for an extended period of time or if the mistake will be corrected. I understand I'm just one customer but for my personal experience the admin answer to that question will define whether I continue to try getting better at this MOBA or a separate one where I can choose a particular set of skills to hone.
