Better Ping with Better DNS

This may already be known, But in my quest for a little better ping since the servers moved from Seattle to Chicago. I have seen a jump in ping and am trying little things that I can do witch is minimal to improve this.

The biggest thing I have found is to do the following. I have reduced my ping by about 10

Download: Namebench

It will take about 10 minutes to run and will test all the DNS servers from your area and at the end give you the fastest DNS server to use.

You then update your routers DNS and local PC settings and boom a little better.

-Before the server change I had about 9-15 ping. -After the server change I started to get spikes from 60-100 -Now my ping is a 40 and stable. -Always direct wired.

Your internet providers DNS is not always the best so give this a try hope this helps some of you! :)
