How does this make sense?

The master Yi in my last game had 158 AD with and yet he outdamaged me when I was Rengar with 4 stacks from passive, and had for a total of 227 AD, yet he one-shot with Q but I couldn't one-shot with empowered Q, how the hell does this make sense?
